The Chronic Disease Coalition works to advocate for patients and help them advocate for themselves. In celebration of Chronic Disease Month, we invite our patient ambassadors and partner patient groups to join us on July 10 for a one-hour conversation on what's next in state and federal advocacy and how we can keep patients at the center of healthcare policy.

In just a few decades, diagnostics and treatments for chronic diseases have made incredible improvements. This progress is thanks to the passion of researchers and providers in the public, academic and private sectors. We’ve also improved access to, and the affordability of, chronic disease treatment.
To make real headway on chronic disease in this country, we need multifaceted approaches that help all of us. In the short term, that means preserving access to Medicaid coverage. In the long-term, that means continued investments in public health, medical research and regulatory oversight.
Time and time again, legislators tell us how they are inspired by their constituents to work on patient-centered policy. And that's you! Elected officials truly value meeting the people they represent. You don't have to be a law or policy expert to have a meeting with your legislator – just take the time to get to know them, tell them your story and talk about how your life could be better.
